Blue Jays finish sixth in state golf tournament

St. Edmund High School finished sixth in the state in the Class 1A golf tournament last month at the Copper Mill Golf Club in Zachary, LA, finishing with a two-day score of 702.

St. Mary’s of Natchitoches finished first, followed by Hanson Christian at second and Ouachita Christian at third.

St. Eds earned the right to advance to the state tournament after taking first place in the regional golf tournament, held in April at Tamahka Tails Golf Club in Marksville, with a score of 345.

Christian Life Academy placed second in the regional tournament, and Basile High placed third.

St. Edmund’s Chase Veillon placed second in terms of individual scoring with a score of 80, followed by Bradley Bergeron at fifth with a score of 86 and Alex Young at seventh with a score of 89.
