Breaux Bridge came back in the last inning to take a 3-2 win over the Eunice High Bobcats (7-8) Thursday night at LSU at Eunice’s Bengal Field.

The Tigers took the lead right from the start, when Brock Landry doubled, reached on an errant pick-off throw and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Layne Theriot.

Breaux Bridge added a second run in the top of the fourth, when Ryan Belaire reached on an error, advanced on a sacrifice bunt, and then scored on Danah Thibodeaux’s base hit.

But Eunice came back with two runs to tie the game in the second half.

Stuart Turner singled, and his courtesy runner, Ethan Moser, was advanced to third on Jacque Frugé’s double.

Moser scored on Brett Baldwin’s groundout, and Frugé scored on a groundout by Tyler Fontenot.

Breaux Bridge scored the winning run at the top of the seventh, when Landry scored on Layne Theriot’s grounder.

Jake Angelle was the winning pitcher, giving up two earned runs on four hits while walking one batter and striking out three.

Chris McCoy (0-1) took the loss for Eunice, pitching the first six innings and giving up three unearned runs on five hits. McCoy walked no batters while striking out four.

The Bobcats open District 4-4A play on Tuesday, hosting the Sam Houston High Broncos at 6 p.m.
