Catholic Daughters plan fund raiser events

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674 met at the Sacred Heart meeting room Wednesday, April 2, with Regent Mary Jenkins presiding. After the opening prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, Jenkins wished a Happy Birthday to members celebrating a birthday in April.

Twenty-two spiritual bouquets were sent out to the sick by chairman Al Vizinat. The nominating committee chairman, Chris Brown, reported the selection of a slate of officers for the coming year. The election will be held in May.

The semi-annual audit was held April 22. Members assisting with the audit were Andrea LeBas, Joy Deshotel, Carrie Deville and Sybil Veillon.

Barbara Delafosse discussed the salad and bingo fundraiser and asked for volunteers to assist in the staging of the event. The evening will include five bingo games, salad, five more bingo games and then dessert. Eleven door prizes will be given. Be watching for the date of the event to be announced and plan a ladies night out.

Irene Fusilier was the door prize winner. The meeting was closed with a prayer.
