City budget in black

Through the first seven months of its fiscal year, the City of Eunice Geneal Fund was about $235,000 in the black.

The statement of operation through Jan. 31, released today, showed General Fund revenues of $3.39 million and expenses of $3.37 million.

The city's sales tax collection through Jan. 31 were about $268,000 over budget for the first seven months.

Total sales tax collected was $3.52 million. Sales Tax fund expenses, including appropriations to other funds and capital outlay spending, were $2.71 million in the same period.
