Classes being sponsored

CROWLEY – The Acadia Parish Library will sponsor a film course in Crowley, “From Novel to Film,” in which movies made from classic American novels will be shown. The novels, their authors, and the movies from them will be discussed.

Films from novels include Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, Henry Bellamann’s King’s Row, Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, and Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.

The course will be taught by Charles R. Bier, PhD. Professor Emeritus, LSUE. Classes begin on Monday night March 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Crowley Library. The course will run for six weeks, ending on April 28.

While there is no charge for the course, the library is requesting that interested persons enroll by calling 788-1880. Attendance will be limited.
