Heritage Manor News: January events
In January, most activity departments are breathing a sigh of relief that the holidays are over and they can slow down a bit. That may be partly true. It may be less hectic, switching to the first of the year after the constant pace of December, but true activity directors never have down time. Decorating in a large, long-term care facility can be a challenge. The building seems bare once all of the festive, seasonal decorations are packed away. In January, it is time to think of the year ahead: new ideas, old favorites and everyday routines.
This month’s events include resident birthday party, VFW barbecue, Martin Luther King celebration, Silver Eagle social and Activity Professionals Week.
Residents celebrating a birthday in January are Agnes Arvie, Donald Bourque, James Deville, John Dupre, Sue Guillory, Gary Landreneau, Michael Ledet, Eloise Meche, Sandra Richard and Ruby Johnson.
Congratulations to the Employee of the Month for January Mona Thomas and Resident of the Month Gary Landreneau. He is the vice president of the resident council and she is the housekeeping/laundry supervisor.
