Heritage Manor News: May - the fun month

May is by far our most fun-filled month. It begins with a trip to the movies for our moms in recognition of Mother’s Day. We wish each and every mother a very happy and blessed Mother’s Day. On Monday, May 11, we will be honoring our mothers with a celebration of cake and punch. At that time, we will award a plaque to our most active mother. Mother’s Day also brings National Nursing Home Week. We will be having a lot of extra activities, outings and dress out days to entertain and honor our residents. We encourage family members to join us. Prizes will be given daily at random to participants. We thank our loyal VFW Post #3803 members for all they do for us throughout the year and for always going the extra mile during Nursing Home Week.
The monthly birthday party will be held Wednesday, May 13, at 2 p.m. in the activity room. Residents celebrating a birthday include Betty Jack, Mary Celestine, Bernadine Jack and Evelyn Guillory.
The meal of the month will be served on the third Thursday of the month.
The Memorial Day celebration will be held Monday, May 25, and the annual Senior Day outing at the Northside Civic Center will be held Thursday, May 28.
Congratulations to Employee of the Month for May Lee Arvie and Resident of the Month Emmadine Soileau. Both are very deserving of the honor.
