Heritage Manor News: Planned outings
Outings require more planning than most events you have within your community. It must be a safe environment for residents that are physically challenged. Another challenge of planning outings is the variation of residents’ stamina and physical limitations. Some like walking, others not so much. Some do not like to be gone too long, and others are okay with being gone all day. Cost can be another issue. Some events and outings cost much more than others, and this is where our fund raising comes in. Trips to local bingo blowouts, cookouts in the park and trips to the movies are a few of the outings that residents enjoy. Going to the Senior Olympics, nursing home pageants, the zoo and casino are among their favorite activities. We are selling raffle tickets now to raise money for the annual casino buffet trip. Everyone loves the idea of eating at a buffet and looks forward to this outing every year. We will be joining our friends from Savoy Care Center in Mamou to make this trip memorable. Many thanks to all individuals that bought or sold raffle tickets. Also, many thanks to the merchants that donated raffle prizes.
