Heritage Manor News: Unity in times of sorrow
Recently, we the staff and residents of Heritage Manor said goodbye to one of our own. Although this is a daily part of life, we were grieved with the loss of an icon of our home. Ms. Betty was a part of our family for 32 years and I was blessed to share her life for the last 19 years. She not only was one of the first residents that lived here, but she was also known as our door greeter for many years. Her passing left a great void in many lives, but she will always be remembered by anyone who passed through our doors. Our administrator allowed the staff to pay their final respects to her by sending vans to her wake at the funeral home to say their goodbyes. How spectacular is that? To have such a wonderful, compassionate human being showing the love of a real family member that we lost. It shows the devotion and bonding we have as a group. We salute our wonderful administrator Trey Prudhomme and all of the wonderful staff that will truly miss her.
Activities this week include Come Lord Jesus group, mass, pokeno, in-room visits, manicures, exercise, zoo trip, washer toss and bingo sponsored by LaVille Funeral Home. We will also celebrate Father’s Day with a special celebration and the presentation of the Most Active Father Award.
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Carol Fontenot.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends get-well wishes to John Deville and Emmadine Soileau.
The staff of Heritage Manor welcomes Bobby Joyce Sylvester to the facility.
Congratulations to Sydney Reed for being chosen as the latest Pride Card winner. She was selected for going the extra mile to help her fellow staff members and residents.
Next week will mark the official first day of summer. We encourage the elderly to drink a lot of fluids and not stay out in the summer heat for too long.
