Minister’s Corner: Don’t let fear rule

The events that took place a couple of weeks ago at the Grand Theatre in Lafayette with the tragic shooting of so many people has left many people scared. They are reacting off of their fear to the point that they are afraid to go to places where there may be a crowd of people gathered. Fear is one of the major weapons in the enemy’s arsenal. Fear can paralyse people and cause them to make bad judgement calls. Let me remind you that the Word of God says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
We are Christians. That means that the hand of our Heavenly Father rests upon each and every one of us. He never sleeps nor slumbers but is constantly vigilant when it comes to the protection of His own. Psalm 18:2-3 says, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”
Let us place our trust in Jesus, knowing that He will protect us and keep us because He loves us. Let’s not let the enemy route us and make us run in fear.
