Minister’s Corner: The long haul
As we journey down this Christian life, we sometimes get discouraged and we have a tendency to want to give up. I am glad to be able to say to you today that God is much more patient with us than we are with ourselves. He is interested in the “long haul.” He is getting us ready for a life of eternity with Him. He is making us in this life to be like Christ, and His blueprint for our lives is found in Galatians 5:22-23 KJV, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
God sees far more potential in you than perhaps the world or even yourself sees right now. In fact, you may be bruised and dented today because the world has chosen to discard you. Remember that there is no instrument that has even been devised which can actually measure the depth of God’s love for you. Don’t give up! God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. You can get in on it whenever you are ready and willing to come to Him. The old songwriter was wise when he wrote, “Have thine own way, Lord; have thine own way. Thou are the potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after thy will; while I am waiting, you’ll did and still.”
