Minister’s Corner: A measure of faith

There are times in everyone’s life when they are beset on every side by the shadows of darkness. When we face those dark hours, when it seems there is no other place to turn to, when we receive word that the illness is terminal, or we have lost someone near and dear to us, it is in those times that it is good to go into the temple of the Lord, God’s house, and diligently seek His face.
In such a time like this, we desire Him more earnestly and He rewards us with a fresh vision of His power and glory. It is in times like this that we summon the faith we think we lack and cry out to the Lord. Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a reward or of them that diligently seek him.”
My friend, you may feel your faith is at rock bottom, but it is only the circumstances that have you weighed down. Your faith is still there waiting to be exercised. Paul tells us in Romans 12:3 (KJV) that “... God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
In the darkest hours of life, we may see God more clearly than in the sunshine of our lives, because it is at these times that we look hardest for Him.
