Minister’s Corner: Trust in the Lord first

Dwight L. Moody’s favorite verse was Isaiah 12:2, “I will trust and not be afraid.” He used to say, “You can travel first class or second class to heaven.” Second class is, “What time I am afraid, I will trust” (Psalm 56:3). First class is, “I will trust and not be afraid.” That is the better way. Many of us have settled for second best. We have chosen to wait until fear rules our hearts to trust in God. Why not buy a first class ticket? Why not trust the Lord and thereby excape the fear? What needless worry and fret we endure simply because we do not trust the Lord in every aspect of our lives. He is still in control! He has not abdicated His throne! He is still Almighty God! Take comfort in that.
