Woman arrested for leaving child in car while she was inside bar

On Tuesday, May 2, 2017, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office released a press release in regard to a female being accused of leaving her child in the car alone in the Y-Bar parking lot, in the Reddell area.

MPD makes pair of recent arrests

The Mamou Police Department recently made two major arrests within the town’s limits.
On March 14, 2017 MPD officers responded to a female being combative.

EPSO ARREST REPORTS

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 24 recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:
• Kenderrick Lamb, 25, 922 S. Railroad Ave. Opelousas, was arrested on March 1, 2017 for theft. Lamb remains incarcerated on a $15,000.00 bond.

VPPD ARREST REPORTS

The Ville Platte Police Department reported recent bookings into the city jail. Arrested were the following persons:
• Anthony Collins, 18, 604 N. E. Railroad Ave., Ville Platte, was arrested on March 15, 2017, for Simple Battery and is out on a $1000.00 bond.

EPSO Arrest Reports

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 24 recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:
• Dawn B. Fontenot, 34, 1080 Pine Hall Rd., Ville Platte, was arrested on December 22, 2016 for a probation hold. Fontenot remains incarcerated at this time.

Mamou Arrest Reports

The Mamou Police Department recently reported the following 11 arrests:
• Lisa Garnett, 901 Hickory St., Mamou, was arrested January 12, 2017 for aggravated battery.
• Corlin Robinson, 504 5th St., Mamou, was arrested January 14, 2017 for a city warrant.

Turkey Creek murder suspect arrested in Oklahoma

Leland Hamm has been arrested in Oklahoma.
KOKI Fox 23 News in Oklahoma reported on Friday night that Hamm had been arrested in a parking lot of a Lowe’s in the town of Owasso, Oklahoma. Hamm is wanted in connection with the July 1 murder of a Shreveport man at home in Turkey Creek.

VPPD Arrest Reports

The Ville Platte Police Department reported 10 recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:
• Richard Prejean, 58, 9367 Rushwood Dr., was arrested on October 8, 2016 for disturbing the peace by intoxication. Prejean’s bond was set at $200.00.

EPSO has made nine arrests in Turkey Creek murder case

Nine individuals have been arrested by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office in connection to a shooting that left Clifton Hallmark, of Shreveport, dead in Turkey Creek on July 1, 2016.
The shooting took place at 1023 Cemetery Rd. during a pre Fourth of July celebration.
