Couple exchange wedding nuptials
Taylor Angelle Cart and Craig Charles Valdetero of Crowley were united during a 6:30 p.m. nuptial mass on May 30, 2008 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Father Marshall Boulet and Father Gary Schexnayder officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stephen Cart of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Helen Dabadie Cart and the late Z.T. Cart of Crowley, Mrs. Marie Trahan Watson and the late J.W. Watson and the late E.C. Breaux all of Jennings.
Taylor is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Our Lady of the Lake College of Baton Rouge were she earned a bachelors degree in nursing. She is currently working as a Registered Nurse at Baton Rouge General Hospital.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Charlotte Hensgens Valdetero and the late Glenn Valdetero of Crowley, He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hensgens and the late Stanford Valdetero and the late Elaine Hoffpauir Valdetero, all of Crowley.
Craig is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Baton Rouge Community College with a degree in process technology. He is currently employed with Weatherford International.
The bride, escorted by her father, was radiant in an elegant v-neck gown of ivory silk taffeta. The gown featured a ruched bodice, fitted to the hip and a low v-back adorned with covered buttons and completed with a chapel length train. Her headpiece was of a matching illusion fingertip veil. She carried a mixed arrangement bouquet of cream and ivory flowers including roses, spider mums and agapanthus, accented with green berries.
In keeping with tradition the bride wore her great-grandmother’s lace church headpiece incorporated into her bouquet as something old, her wedding dress as something new, her veil as something borrowed and a rosary as something blue.
Lauren Besse Dore, friend of the bride; served as matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Ericka LaBauve and Amanda Link, sisters of the groom; Anna Smith and Anne Marie Cart, cousins of the bride; Kathryn Alleman, Jennifer Habetz, and Nicole del Castillo, all friends of the bride. They were attired in ocean blue dupioni silk, tea length dresses of various styles.
Serving as best man was Jacob Dorr, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Trent Broussard, Aaron Dore and Cory Forestier, friends of the groom; and Ryan Vidrine, Michael Hensgens, William Hensgens and Matt Lambousy, cousins of the groom.
Ushering guest to their seats were Jacob Cart, brother of the bride; Matthew Latiolais, cousin of the bride; Shane Valdetero, brother of the groom; and Steven Griffin, friend of the groom.
Ella Grace Osthheimer, cousin of the bride; was the flower girl and Alexander LaBauve, godson and nephew of the groom; was the ring bearer.
Appropriate musical selection were given by Alberta Lyons, organist; Lauren Baker, violinist; Neil Simon, trumpeter; and Jace Fogleman with vocals.
Scriptures were read by Mrs. Jeanne Nickel, cousin of the bride and Mr. Dennis Hensgens, uncle of the groom.
Marcia Latiolais, godmother and aunt of the bride; Marie Ostheimer, cousin of the bride; and Mary Gayle Iverson, godmother of he groom gave offertory gifts.
On her daughter’s special day, the mother of the bride was exquisite in a green Midori two-piece dupioni silk suit with gathering around bodice.
The mother of the groom was lovely in a bronze two-piece ensemble of dupioni silk with bead embellishment around the collar.
A reception was held at Point Aux Loups Spring’s ballroom in Iota immediately after the wedding.
Out of town guest registered from Texas, Tennessee and Baton Rouge.
Upon returning from a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
On the night prior the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at 6:30 p.m. at Chef Roy’s restaurant in Rayne. The dinner was hosted by the groom’s family.
