Daniel Parsley
JENNINGS – Services for Daniel Ray Parsley, 83, will be Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline with Father Ted Broussard Officiating.
He died May 10, 2008 at Camelot Nursing Home in Crowley, La. He was the son of Henry and Alamonde Hebert Parsley, born in Evangeline.
A rosary was held at 6 p.m.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Parsley was an oilfield worker. He loved to hunt and fish and loved to do gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Doucet Parsley of Evangeline; three sons, Nathan Parsley of Maurice and wife Virginia, Byron Parsley of Tee-Mamou and wife Carrie and Emmit Parsley of Tee-Mamou and wife Bridgette; two daughters, Lynette Smith of Seminole, Fla. and husband Clay and Donna Parsley of Jennings; five brothers, Charlie Parsley of Evangeline, Archie Parsley of Evangeline, Richard Parsley of Evangeline, Kelly Parsley of Evangeline and Darrell Parsley of Evangeline; two sisters, Marlene Smith of Evangeline and Pricilla “Patsy” Black of Broussard; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, two brothers, Joyce and James “Jimmy” Parsley; one sister, Sarah David; one daughter-in-law, Judy Parsley; and one great grandchild, Kiersten “KiKi” Fontenot.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Fontenot, Chad Breaux, Joshua Parsley, Charles Rutherford, Marcus Bertrand and Danny Broussard. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Fontenot.
Visitation began on Tuesday and will continue until time of services Wednesday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
