MAMOU - Maxine Annie Fontenot, 65, of Mamou, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at her residence. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony “Pine” Mark Fontenot and his wife, Tabby, of Easton and Barry N. Fontenot and his wife, Anya, of Basile; one daughter, Lanna Faye Johnson of Eunice; two sisters, Dorothy Vezinat of Lake Charles and Hilda Vezinat of Eunice; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Cleveland Fontenot Jr.

LOZY S. SOILEAU
May 21, 1906 - March 29, 2008
Funeral services were held for Lozy S. Soileau, 101, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 1. Burial followed in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.
Ms. Soileau died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include four sons, Vernell Soileau and his wife, Sedonia, and Sylvan Soileau, all of Eunice, Winston Soileau and his wife, Pearl, of Ville Platte, and J.C. Soileau of Belle Chasse; seven daughters, Louella Smith of French Settlement, Lela May Pilgrim and her husband, Shelby, and Barbara Reed and her husband, Donald, all of Eunice, Laura Jane Gattuso and her husband, Joseph, of New Jersey, Shirley Fontenot and her husband, Dick, and Flora Fontenot and her husband, Willis, all of Ville Platte, and Patsy Courville and her husband, Joe, of Gonzales; 29 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Soileau; her parents, Jules and Laura Soileau; one son, Larry Soileau; and one son-in-law, Dallas Smith.

JERRY WAYNE GUILLORY

CHATAIGNIER - Funeral services were held for Jerry Wayne Guillory, 56, of Ville Platte, at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Guillory died at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Fontenot Guillory of Ville Platte; two sons, Jason Guillory and his wife, Angie, of Eunice and Joey Guillory and his wife, Robyn, of Carencro; one sister, Jalyne Dupre and her husband, Dale, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Logan and Zachery Guillory; one niece, Shelly Dupre of Baton Rouge; and one nephew, Damon Dupre of Arlington, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Patty Guillory.

GEORGIA HELEN FONTENOT
May 3, 1927 - March 30, 2008
TURKEY CREEK - Funeral services will be held for Georgia Helen Fontenot, 81, of Pine Prairie, at Pine Prarie First Baptist Church at 10 a.m., today, April 3. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.
Ms. Fontenot died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou. She was a longtime member of Pine Prairie First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include one son, Gregory Leon Brice of Dallas, Texas; and five grandchildren, Greg Brice, Autumn Brice, Michael Brice, Taylor Brice and Cassidy Brice.

BESSIE NAQUIN DUPRE
June 10, 1914 - March 30, 2008
MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Bessie Naquin Dupre, 93, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Mausoleum.
Ms. Dupre died at 8:28 a.m., Sunday, March 30, 2008. She was a life-long resident of Mamou and in recent years, Savoy Care Center. She worked on the family farm all her life and was a former owner of her family’s grocery store.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Dupre of Mamou and Rawlin Dupre and his wife, Sydney, of Slidell; eight grandchildren, including one special grandson, Toby Dupre of Hobbs, New Mexico; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jules and Celestine Naquin; her husband of 56 years, Laurent Dupre; and one daughter-in-law, Evella June Dupre.
