Dog no substitute for paying bills

Breaux Bridge — Tying an ill-tempered pit bull to a gas or water meter to discourage the city from cutting off the service for non-payment is a “no-no,” says city maintenance chief Randy “Crip” Cormier.

One of his workers was confronted with just such a scenario recently. A number of others have been verbally abused.

People acting in that manner will have more problems than just delinquent utility bills, says Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme, who promises to get the police involved.
