The Evangeline Parish Police Jury approved the creation of a three-way stop on the corner of Ninth Street and Thib Road near Pine Prairie during its committee meetings Monday, May 5. Pine Prairie residents Larry Fontenot and Mike Worthington asked the jury to approve the three-way stop to help alleviate speeding traffic through that area. The two men also requested that 35 mph speed limit signs be placed on Ninth Street, stating without signs a speed limit would be hard to enforce.

The jury agreed and approved a motion to install the speed limit signs.

Those decisions will be officially ratified when the jury approves its committee meeting minutes Monday, May 12.
