Clarence J. Lavergne Jr., also known as Junior, Lavergne, 55, 1627 Walnut St., Pine Prairie, was charged again by authorities in regards to alleged narcotic use.

An arrest warrant was executed Thursday night, March 28, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police on the charge of distribution of Schedule II narcotics. Lavergne was charged Tuesday, March 11, by these two agencies with distribution of Schedule II narcotics.

Captain Keith Dupre, chief of detectives for the sheriff’s office, said at the time of Lavernge’s arrest, no bond was set. On Friday, he was released on a $10,000 bond.

Dupre thanked Pine Prairie Officer Ronnie Clark for his assistance in executing the warrant.

Sheriff Eddie Soileau thanks the public for continuing to give information to his office, not only in the narcotic area but in other areas, as well. He continued to encourage the public to report illegal activities, and he said all callers will remain anonymous.

“The public is a big help to the sheriff’s office, or to any law enforcement agency, because they serve as the eyes and ears of law enforcement,” Dupre said.
