Eunice, St. Eds draw home games in playoffs

Eunice High School will host Breaux Bridge Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the bi-district round of the Class 4A state playoffs; St. Edmund will host Country Day in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs at 5 p.m.
Softball coaches met at Alexandria High School Friday for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association seeding meeting, where the first-round games were scheduled.
St. Edmund recently finished their regular season with a 16-12-1 record, and were third in District 6-1A.
Their first-round opponent, Country Day, finished second in District 10-1A after undefeated South Plaquemines.
Eunice High wrapped up their regular season with a 15-8-3 overall record, and finished second in District 4-4A with a 6-3 record, having fallen three times to district champion Sam Houston (23-3-3; 9-0).
The Lady Cats’ bi-district round opponent, Breaux Bridge, finished their regular season with a 13-12-1 overall record. The Lady Tigers are third in District 5-4A, who’s championship title was claimed by Teurlings Catholic (16-11; 12-0).
