FEMA trailers on the wane (slightly)
Baton Rouge — FEMA trailers in St. Martin Parish were reduced by three last month, the federal agency reports.
In a "depopulation" report covering Jan. 9 to Jan. 30, FEMA list the current total of trailers to house Katrina/Rita victims at 46, down from 49 earlier in the month.
The number had gotten up to 105, the lowest of the seven parishes cited.
The report also listed Beauregard, Jefferson Davis, Acadia, Lafayette, Vermilion (highest with 484 currently and 1,467 tops) and Iberia.
