Firefighters recognized for dedication and volunteerism

Firefighters from Ward Five were recognized for 25 years of service Saturday, May 3, in Turkey Creek. Each man was presented a certificate for 25 years of membership in the Louisiana State Fireman’s Association, which is an agency that works to secure protection for and to promote the best interest of fire service personnel in Louisiana. Donald A. Milligan made the presentation. Each man was asked to recall something about their days as firefighters and a short slide presentation was presented. They discussed how the first truck was purchased and how they notified each other when their was a fire. Supper was served.
