Fruge, LaCombe united in holy matrimony

Haylie Anita Fruge of Lafayette and Grayson John LaCombe of Houston were united in marriage on Friday, May 9 during a 7:30 p.m. ceremony at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Officiating the ceremony was Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen.

The bride is the daughter of Anita F. Melancon of Lafayette and Douglas C. Fruge, Sr. of Montegut. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Percy J. Fontenot, and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James F. Fruge, Sr. and the late Elsie Fontenot, all of Ville Platte.

Haylie is a graduate of LSU at Eunice with an associate degree in radiologic technology.

The groom is the son of Kenneth and Susan LaCombe of Egan. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jake Trahan of Egan, and paternal grandparents are Mrs. Anna Mae LaCombe of Egan and the late Albert LaCombe, Jr.

Grayson is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor degree in accounting, and is employed by Null Lairson P.C.

Escorted by her father, the bride was stunning in a strapless Italian satin gown with Swarovski crystal beading, accentuated with lace and a Robison-Anton platinum embroidered bodice, complete with a full pleated skirt. Her headpiece was a beautiful ivory finger tip length veil. Her bouquet consisted of white roses and stephanotis wrapped in silk cream ribbon.

Serving as matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Nicole Cizek, and as matron of honor was her cousin, Erica Doyle. Bridesmaids were Mary Brown, Rebecca McFarlain, Krysti Fontenot, Alison Fontenot, and Casey Perridon, friends of the bride, and Rebecca Fruge, sister-in-law to the bride. The bridal attendants were attired in matte taffeta sleeveless a-line gowns of misty pink. Each was accentuated with a v-neckline and taffeta gathered at the waist. Each carried a bouquet of pink and white roses.

Ryan Girouard attended his friend as best man. Groomsmen were Lane Babin, Ryan McFarlain and Patrick Finney, friends of groom and Kyle and Joshua LaCombe, brothers of the groom, and Douglas Fruge, II, brother of the bride.

Escorting guest to there seats were Trey Hundley, Brent LeJeune, Anthony McAtee and Bryan Leonards, all friends of the groom.

Allie McFarlain, godchild of the groom, and Ella McFarlain were flower girls, and Jered Cizek, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

For her daughter’s special day, the mother of the bride was attired in beautiful cameo colored, two-piece Duponi silk dress with a shirred front. The dress featured three-quarter length sleeves with covered buttons. The dress flowed down into a floor length skirt.

The mother of the groom was lovely in a sage colored two-piece dress, which featured three-quarter length sleeves and an open jacket with a rouched bodice that flowed into a full skirt. Both mothers were presented with a corsage of orchids.

Appropriate musical selections during the ceremony were provided by Vocalist Karen Melancon, Organist Tom Niel, and Trumpeter Will Green.

Scripture readings were read by Laura A. Faul and Robert K. “Bob” Fruge.

A reception immediately followed at the Townhouse Restaurant of Lafayette. The reception area was elaborately decorated. Each table was covered with a white tablecloth and a centerpiece of fresh white flowers, which included hydrangeas and roses in a tall glass vase. Candles were also placed on the tabletops to complete the decor.

The bride’s cake was of ivory colored fondant, each tier featuring a different design.

The groom’s cake featured LSU Tiger Stadium and a fondant icing.

Following a wedding trip to Mayan River, Mexico, the couple will reside in Houston.

On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal supper at 7 p.m. at The Townhouse Restaurant.
