JENNINGS – Services for Gertie Lopez will be Saturday May 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady Help Of Christians Church with Father Ronald Groth officiating. She died Thursday May 15, 2008 at Jeff Davis Living Center. She was the daughter of Charlie and Eunice Vincent Vallo, born in Gueydan.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Lopez was retired from Production Credit. She loved to dance, cook, shop and be with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Lopez of Jennings; two daughters, Wanda Margaret “Tiny” Benoit of Crowley and husband Bryan; Christine Fontenot of Welsh and husband Rayford; one brother, Harris Vallo of Gueydan; and one sister, Leona Collard of Jennings.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother; Burney Vallo, and sister; Wanda Margaret Reese.

Pallbearers; Milton Reese, Jr., Robbie Vallo, Chad Vallo, Greg Lopez, Jeffery Perry, Beau Fontenot, Tyler Fontenot and Michael Benoit.

Visitation will be Friday from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. until time of service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
