Guns recovered, VP man arrested by EPSO

Detective Stanley Washington worked a case involving theft of guns recently and recovered the guns.

Captain Keith Dupre, chief of detectives for the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the theft had occurred in the northern part of the parish. He said Washington successfully located the guns.

Washington’s investigation led him to securing arrest warrants for two men, who remain free at this time. Warrants have been issued for Billy Travis Elliott, 32 (dob 6-2-75), 1206 Rollins Road, Ville Platte, and Robert Hayden Lee, no age given, 1202 Frontier Road, Turkey Creek. Both will be charged with theft of firearms. Anyone with information of his whereabouts are encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 363-2161.
