Heritage Manor News: Having a sense of pride

This past week, I had a chance to know and feel pride. The small community of Grand Prairie was faced with the death of one of its own; A proud young man that gave the ultimate sacrifice - his life. This young man died fighting for his country and for our freedom. I’m sure that at this point, his family is not thinking of the pride they have for their son, but for the love they have for him. But, I am here to tell you this young man’s death has touched the lives of every family in our small community. When you are faced with such a tragedy as this family is facing, it is family, friends and good neighbors that help you through it. I am very proud to live in a community that stands by you and is willing to be there for you. Our prayers are with the Richard family and we are grateful for their sacrifice.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church sponsored a bingo game Thursday, April 17. Big winners were Warren Fontenot, Sue Guillory, Lionel Ardoin, Florence Manuel, Betty Jack, Euna Vidrine and Essie Lafleur.
LaVille Funeral Home sponsored a bingo game Saturday, April 19. Big winners were Warren Fontenot, Dee Espree, Sue Guillory, Ruby Fontenot, Lucille Guillory, Lionel Ardoin and Alcide Ortego.
Compass Behavioral Center sponsored a bingo game Saturday, April 12. Big winners were Lucille Guillory, Adele Thibodeaux, Odette Landreneau, Gladys Roberie, Dee Espree, Laura Ortego and Verlin Berzas.
Blake’s Southside Pharmacy sponsored its monthly bingo game Monday, April 21. Erica Wedlock was the volunteer. Big winners were Theresa Chapman, Lionel Ardoin, Warren Fontenot, Lucille Guillory, Vernon Soileau and Mary Fontenot.
The staff of Heritage Manor would like to send get-well wishes to Joyce Brunet, Tessie Deshotel, Nancy Pitre, Rhea Guillory, Patrick Washington, Annie Isacc and Louise Ardoin.
