Ardoin, Wilson represent Parish in 5-3A

It was a brand new season for Ville Platte High and Pine Prairie this year in football. Both schools had to compete in Class 3A for the first time in a very long time. For Pine Prairie, it was their first time ever to compete in the higher division.
There was some very tough competition in District 5-3A. Among them was the Livonia Wildcats, who made it all the way to the Class 3A State Championships. Church Point, Northwest and Port Barre also made the playoffs.
The All-District 5-3A team was headed mostly by Livonia. However, Ville Platte High was represented by several players.

Four Bulldogs were pinned on the second team. Quarterback Isaiah Thomas, who is committed to Grambling, threw for 1,422 yards and selected right behind Livonia’s Kerry Savoy. Along with Thomas, Jermarcus Jones, VPHS running back, was named as he ran for 1,088 yards. Wide Receiver Jaquine Anderson and offensive lineman Nigel Chatman were also named to the second team.
Defensive lineman James Wilson, a junior, earned a spot on the first team. He racked up 47 tackles and four sacks. He had more sacks than any other defensive linemen on the first team.
Pine Prairie’s Dylan Doucet was named to the second team as a defensive back and Ville Platte’s Kaylan Anderson earned a spot also on the defensive line on the second team.
