Basile wrestling has great outing at state

The Basile Bearcat wrestling team took to the mats this past weekend to compete at the LHSAA state meet.
As a team the Bearcats were able to score enough points to place fifth overall in Division III and had three wrestlers earn state champion titles in the process.
Brennan Langley, Gavin Christ and Lane Joubert all fought their way through the bracket to earn individual state titles; Langley in the 106 pound weight class, Christ in the 120 pound weight class and Joubert in the 195 pound weight class.
Christ was also named outstanding wrestler for the entire tournament.
Other finishers include Zack Vinson, second place; Issac Cortez, fourth place and Devin Bazinet, sixth place.
