LEBEAU -- Ville Platte High School was looking to rebound after back-to-back loses the last two weeks of the season.
The Bulldogs needed a big win to get the momentum back with only two weeks left until district competition begins.
Ville Platte got that momentum this past Friday night, as the Bulldogs blew past the North Central Hurricanes 36-14. With the win Ville Platte evens their record at 2-2 on the year.
Both clubs scored all of their points in the first half. But it was enough for Ville Platte to take the win and the huge swing going into next week as they will travel to Opelousas to take on the Tigers in Donald Gardner stadium.
For the most part, it was the Terez Alfred show. The senior Bulldog quarterback lead Ville Platte to their first three touchdowns of the night.
Alfred started the scoring early, taking the first play from scrimmage 70 yards for the score. The two-point conversion was good and Ville Platte held an early 8-0 lead.
Alfred added another score in the opening period, this time on a seven-yard run. Again the two-point conversion was good and the Bulldogs took the 16-0 lead.
North Central did manage to score a touchdown in the quarter to cut the lead in half.
However, Ville Platte added three scores in the second quarter to distance themselves from the Hurricanes.
Alfred plunged in from one-yard out mid-way through the second quarter and Daylon Jones added two touchdown runs of four yards each for the Bulldogs.
Ville Platte made only one two-point conversion after the three ensuing touchdowns and held a 36-8 lead.
The Hurricanes did put up another score in the second quarter along with a two-point conversion to bring the score to 36-16, where it stayed the rest of the game.
Jones led all rushers with 112 yards.
