The following are game summaries for baseball games played this past week by the parish baseball teams.

Pine
Prairie
vs. Church
Point

The Pine Prairie Panthers hosted the Church Point Bears in a key district contest on Wednesday. Pine Prairie came into the game trailing league leader Livonia by one game. The Panthers needed a win to keep pace with the Wildcats. With the game tied in the fourth inning, Pine Prairie plated a run in the bottom of the fifth to take the 5-4 win. The Panthers are now 12-7 on the year and 3-2 in district play.
After one inning, the game was scoreless. Church Point scored their first two runs in the top of the second inning to take the quick lead. Pine Prairie responded in the bottom of the inning with a lone run. The Bears answered in the third and fourth innings, scoring solo runs in each of those innings. Not letting the game slip away, the Panthers responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Pine Prairie held Church Point scoreless in the top of the fifth inning. With the score tied 4-4, the Panthers plated what turned out to be the winning run in the bottom of the inning. Joshua Fontenot singled with two outs. JT Joubert worked the count full before slamming a double into leftfield, plating Fontenot. Pine Prairie sealed the game by shutting out the Bears in the final two innings.
Dylan Doucet and Fontenot combined for the win on the hill. Fontenot threw three and one third innings, allowing four runs on six hits, while striking out four and walking four. Doucet finished the game, giving up zero runs on one hit, striking out five and allowing one walk. Joubert and Matthew Rougeau were both two for three at the plate. Rougeau scored a run and collected a run batted in. Sylus Carson went one for three with three runs batted in and a run scored.

Mamou
vs.Welsh

The Mamou Demons were seeking their first district win on Tuesday afternoon when they faced off against the Welsh Greyhounds. The Demons used a powerful offensive performance to soundly defeat Welsh 18-9. Mamou improves to 3-13 on the year and 1-2 in district play with the win.
The Demons jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after the end of one inning of play. After holding Welsh scoreless in the top of the second, Mamou blew the game wide open, plating eight runs in the bottom of the inning. The Demons collected six hits and three walks during the inning.
The Greyhounds answered in the top of the third with a run, but the Demons continued to put up crooked numbers, as four more runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the inning. Welsh added four runs in the fourth inning to bring the score a little closer. However, Mamou out-dueled the Greyhounds over the next three innings, 4-3, to close out the game.
Hunter Fusilier and Austin Fontenot combined for the win on the hill. Fusilier threw three and two thirds innings, allowing six runs on five hits while striking out two. Fontenot went three and one third innings, giving up three runs on one hit, while striking out five.
At the plate, Tanner Rougeau was two for three to lead all Demon hitters. Dylan Duplechin and Chet Guillory both went two for four, with Guillory notching two runs batted in. Chris Pitre was three for five in the win.

Mamou
vs. Vinton

Looking for their second district win of the year, the Mamou Demons hosted the Vinton Lions on Thursday. Mamou scored in every inning, including multiple runs in the third, fourth and sixth, to roll past the Lions 10-3. The Demons are now 4-13 on the season and an ever important 2-2 in district play.
Mamou and Vinton traded runs in the first three innings, with the Demons holding a 4-3 lead going into the fourth inning. Mamou then pulled away from the Lions, holding Vinton scoreless the rest of the ballgame. The Demons picked up two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth to close out the win.
Chris Pitre and Corey Bordelon took the mound to help hold the Lion bats to minimal damage. Pitre threw five complete innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, while striking out two. Bordelon finished the game by pitching two complete innings, giving up zero runs on one hit and also while striking out four.
Dylan Duplechin did a tremendous amount of damage at the plate for the Demons. Duplechin went four for four with four runs batted in, including a double and a two-run home run. Jude Fontenot was two for three for Mamou in the win.
