Pine Prairie
vs. Livonia

The Pine Prairie Lady Panthers continued to roll in district 5-3A, as they defeated the Livonia Lady Wildcats 11-0 on Wednesday. Pine Prairie hosted Livonia in a makeup game from earlier in the season. The win moved the Lady Panther record to 10-4 on the season and 5-0 in district 5-3A.

Mamou vs.
DeQuincy

The Mamou High Lady Demon softball team traveled to DeQuincy on Thursday looking to stay perfect in district 4-2A play. The Lady Demons held off DeQuincy, despite a five-run second inning by the Lady Tigers to take the 6-5 win. Mamou runs their record to 6-5 on the year and 4-0 in district play.
The Lady Demons plated a run in the top of the first to take the early 1-0 lead. Mamou added to their lead in the top of the second by scoring two more runs. DeQuincy would not be deterred by the quick start of the Lady Demons. The Lady Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the second when five runs crossed the plate. Mamou cut the lead to 5-4, scoring a run in the top of the third. The Lady Demons pulled ahead for good in the top of the fourth, plating two more runs. Mamou held the Lady Tigers scoreless the rest of the way to seal the victory.
Amber Manuel went the distance on the mound, picking up the win. Manuel allowed five runs on seven hits and struck out six. Logan Thomas was four for four at the plate, with a double and four runs batted in to lead all Lady Demon hitters. Katiee Bertrand went two for three, while Kelsie Mayeaux was two for four.

vs. Livonia

On Thursday, the Lady Panthers traveled to Livonia to face the Lady Wildcats for the second day in a row. Pine Prairie wasted no time in the second game, scoring nine runs in the first inning. The Lady Panthers added nine more runs in the second inning to run rule the Lady Wildcats 18-0. Pine Prairie collected nine hits in the game, including a three-run home run by Alexis Hammond. With the win, the Lady Panthers move to 12-4 on the year and 6-0 in district play.

vs. Marksville

Pine Prairie took a break from district play to host the Marksville Lady Tigers on Friday in a doubleheader. The Lady Panthers came into the doubleheader on a four-game win streak. Pine Prairie continued their winning ways, defeating Marksville by the scores of 22-0 and 18-0. With the two wins, Pine Prairie ups their overall record to 13-4.
In game one, the Lady Panthers used an 11-run first inning to propel themselves to the win. Pine Prairie scored 11 more runs in the second inning. The Lady Panthers held Marksville scoreless in the top of the third, invoking the run rule. Pine Prairie collected six hits in the game, including a two-run home run by Julia Chaddrick.
In game two, after shutting down the Lady Tigers in the top of the first, the Lady Panthers answered with six runs in the bottom half of the inning. Pine Prairie then added nine more runs in the bottom of the second to extend their lead. The Lady Panthers did not have to bat in the bottom of the third because the run rule came into effect when Marksville could not score in the top of the third.
Pine Prairie’s starters consisted mostly of their JV players against the Lady Tigers. Tori Johnson, Bailey Fontenot, Tanzi Leger and Karli Ortego all garnered hits for the Lady Panthers. Johnson and Ortego both doubled in the game.

Sacred Heart
vs. Rosepine
The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans left district play behind on Friday to participate in the South Beauregard Tournament. The Lady Trojans took on the Lady Eagles of Rosepine in the first game. Sacred Heart used a five-run fifth inning to defeat Rospine 9-4.
The Lady Trojans scored first, plating a run in the fourth inning. The five-run fifth was followed by a single run in the sixth and two more runs in the seventh. The Lady Eagles scored all of their runs in the bottom of the sixth to make things interesting.
Elizabeth Soileau earned the win, allowing four runs on two hits, while striking out eight. Gabbie Andrepont was four for four with a run batted in and also scored once. Caroline Fontenot and Laura Beth Fontenot were both three for four.
With the win, the Lady Trojans now improve to 9-6 on the year.
