DEQUINCY – Another chance at claiming their first win of the season was torn away from the Mamou Demons again Friday night, as they fell hard to the DeQuincy Tigers in a 35-0 loss here Friday night.
DeQuincy’s offense did not discriminate in terms of yardage, as they ran for 272 yards and threw for 273 yards in the win.
Mamou was able to get some offense going, despite not being able to put the ball in the end zone. The Demons totaled 263 yards, with 141 of those yards coming on the ground.
DeQuincy scored early and often in their convincing win over Mamou. The Tigers punched the ball into the end zone twice in the first quarter; once on a 61-yard pass and once on a 15-yard run.
DeQuincy added two more scores in the second quarter with touchdown passes of 43 yards and 49 yards to take a 28-0 lead into the locker room.
The Tigers tacked on a final touchdown in the third quarter on a five-yard run to close out the scoring in the game.
Shawn Malveaux led all Demon players with 62 yards on 13 carries, while Ronnie McBride was seven for 14 on the night for 88 yards.
