The Mamou Lady Demons picked up a big district win Wednesday afternoon when they secured a 4-1 victory over the Lake Arthur Lady Tigers.
With the win, Mamou moves to 5-9 on the season, but most importantly the Lady Demons are now 4-1 in District 4-2A.
“This was a big win for us,” said Mamou head coach Kim Manuel. “What this does is it keeps us in the title hunt and also gives us some much needed power points. We will continue to work hard to make it back to the playoffs again this year.”
Mamou scored one run in the top of the fourth inning to take the early 1-0 lead.
Lake Arthur tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, plating a single run.
However, the Mamou bats came alive in the top of the sixth, as the Lady Demons scored three runs and held the Lady Tigers scoreless in their final two at bats to seal the win.
