Panthers take two wins at DeQuincy Tourney

The Pine Prairie Panther baseball team took to the diamond to participate in the DeQuincy tournament over this past weekend. The Panthers played three games in the tourney, winning two out of three games. Pine Prairie is now 3-4 on the season. Here is a recap of those games played on Friday and Saturday.
The Panthers began the tournament with a 6-5 loss to the DeQuincy Tigers on Friday. As of press time, the box score and stats were not available for that contest.
On Saturday’s first game, Pine Prairie produced enough offense to run rule the Grand Lake Hornets by the score of 13-3. Dylan Doucet led all Panther hitters garnering three hits and recording three runs batted in. Chandler Johnson also collected three hits in the game. Doucet also earned the win throwing two complete innings and striking out two.
In the next contest on Saturday, the Panthers once again generated enough offense to run rule the East Beauregard Trojans. The game only lasted six innings, as Pine Prairie ran away with a 12-1 win. Dylan Doucet collected five hits in the game and had three runs batted in. Matt Rougeau produced two hits in the game. J.T. Joubert earned the win, pitching all six innings, while striking out four in the win.
