Pine Prairie needs win to secure playoff spot

It all boils down to this for the Pine Prairie Panthers; win and you are in, lose and there may be no tomorrow.
Pine Prairie (3-6, 0-4) comes into their final game of the season hosting the Eunice Bobcats (8-1, 4-0) as the number 36 seed in the playoff power rankings.
If the Panthers can pull the upset of the year in District 5-3A against the Bobcats they would not only win a record fourth game but would also make the playoffs for the first time in history.
“I am glad we still have an outside chance to make the playoffs,” said Pine Prairie head coach Yves Prince. “We have come along a way as a program. To still have a chance at an extra game is a blessing.”
It will take a great amount of fortitude for the Panthers to get that final win of the season.
The Bobcats come into the game on a five game win streak in which they have averaged 36.2 points per game on offense. Also in that five game span, Eunice has held three opponents to six points or less.
“We are going to try to find a way to stop Eunice,” stated Prince. “They are really athletic. In the past they have been a running team, but this year they can throw the ball around. It will be a tough assignment for us.”
Getting it done will take more than what Pine Prairie showed last week against Ville Platte. The Panthers only managed 170 yards of offense in an 18-12 loss. Defensively Pine Prairie squandered 233 rushing yards to the Bulldogs.
