Sacred Heart fares well at Elton Relays

At the annual Elton Indian Relays, the Sacred Heart High School track teams went and participated well. The event was helping the SHHS teams prepare for their annual parish, district, regional and state meets, which are all yet to come as the spring sports seasons roll on.
In individual competition, Catherine Poche competed in the 800-meter run. She was the top runner in this competition with a first place finish.
In the team competition, the SHHS boys saw two teams finish in the top three of their respective events. In the 4 x 200-meter relay, the team of Ellis Parrott, Dylan Scully, Caleb Soileau and Jacob Barnes placed third in their event.
Later in the day, the same team of Parrott, Scully, Barnes and Soileau competed in the 4 x 100-meter relay race. The group finished just behind the the leader for a runner-up position.
Sacred Heart is competing tomorrow at the St. Edmund’s Blue Jays Relays. That event is taking place at Eunice High School.
The SHHS teams will also be doing battle next Friday at the Evangeline Parish Track Meet in Basile. That event should be a good one to watch.
