Basile would host WSJ if they would pull off the upset tonight against Country Day.
The Lady Trojans picked up the 26th seed and will travel to seventh ranked Tensas. The Lady Panthers finished the year with a record fo 24-5 and the District Two champion.
“They are a lot like Point Coupee Central,” said SHHS Head Coach Stephanie Fontenot. “They like to run and score. It their goal to wear you out by our running you.”
Many team that have found success against the Lady Panthers have had to slow the game down a lot. Fontenot says, they know how to play teams like that and that helps their chances.
“They make most of their shots from the lane,” she said. “They don’t set up an offense. We have seen those teams all year long. On tape, they look like Pointe Coupee Central. I think if we can slow the game down they will not be able to handle it.”
The game is set for 6 p.m. tonight at Tensas High School. The winner of this game will meet the winner of the game between 10th seed Ouachita Christian and 23rd Grand lake (13-13).
Grand Lake goes to OCHS tonight and plays at 6 p.m. If SHHS wins at Tensas they have a good chance to host in the seocnd round of the playoffs.
