SHHS honors 2013-14 athletes
After a sports year where nearly every sport made the post-season, Sacred Heart High School honored their athletes with their annual awards banquet. The administration and faculty did a great job of showing their appreciation to the student-athletes for their accomplishments.
Sacred Heart Football saw the playoffs this season. They advanced to the second round of the playoffs before falling to a very good Ouachita Christian team. In girl’s basketball, the Lady Trojans earned a first round birth, but fell to Tensas in the 1A opener. Softball had a strong year and split the district championship. They fell in the second round of the playoffs to the eventual state champs, Cedar Creek.
The boy’s baseball team had a amazing season and accomplished a feat that had not been accomplished in 21 years. The Trojans went to the Class 1A state championship. The Trojans lost a heartbreaker to Cedar Creek in Sulphur.
The SHHS Track and Field teams had a good season also. Several Lady Trojans Track and Field stars made it to the Class 1A State Meet at LSU’s Bernie Moore Stadium.
Coaches from their respective sports issued individual awards to athletes for a job well done.
