SHHS puts nine on 5-1A SB unit

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans had an amazing season in 2014. They finished as the Co-District 5-1A Champions and made it to the second round of the playoffs. They fell to Cedar Creek, who eventually went on to win the Class 1A State Championship. Sacred Heart completed their season with an overall record of 17-8 and a league record of 5-1.
When the All-District 5-1A teams were selected, the Lady Trojans had an amazing nine players named. The group is selected by the coaches in the league. In regards to coaches, Sacred Heart Head Coach Doug Guillory was named the District Coach of the Year for his impressive job with the Lady Trojans.
Five Lady Trojans were named to the league’s first team. Malorie Limoges earned a spot as a pitcher. She went 9-4 on the season and had a 2.6 earned run average. She fanned 39 batters.
On the infield, Heather Fontenot played a strong second base for Sacred Heart. She was tabbed for the first team. She hit .386 on the season and drove home 19 runs. Joining Fontenot on the first team is Gabbie Andrepont. The hardworking catcher earned her spot for her performance throughout the season behind the plate. Andrepont hit a team high .532 batting average. She drove in 34 runs, which also was the team leader. Andrepont had a high slugging perecentage with 11 doubles and a home run. Andrepont was second in runs scored on the team. She crossed the dish 26 times.
In the outfield, Taylor Perry and Courtney Cloud earned their way on the first team. Perry batted .369 and pushed home 20 runs. She popped off five doubles and led the team with 21 stolen bags. Cloud batted .367 and hit five doubles as well. She drove in 17 runs and swiped 12 stolen bases.
On the All-District Second Team, Elizabeth Soileau was selected as an infielder. Soileau played many roles for Sacred Heart, including pitcher. She put up a 6-3 overall record on the season. At the plate, she batted .402 and scored 28 times. She blasted two home runs and a pair of triples. She also hit six doubles.
Also on the infield was Heather Johnson. Johnson hit .386 on the season and ripped seven doubles. She pushed home 17 runs and scored 23 times. Anne Marie Soileau earned a spot on the second team as a utility player. She batted a whopping .454 for Sacred Heart in 2014 and brought home 13 runs.
Earning an Honorable Mention was Hannah Lemoine.
