Ville Platte girls roll past Pine Prairie

VILLE PLATTE –The Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs took one step closer to another outright district championship with a 49-33 win over the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers.
A combination of poor shooting from the Lady Panthers and an attacking defense by Ville Platte allowed the Lady Bulldogs to take a 13-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Pine Prairie tried to close the gap in the second quarter by outscoring Ville Platte 9-7.
However, the Lady Bulldogs kept the pressure on the Lady Panthers in the second half, out pacing Pine Prairie 27-25 to close out the win.
With the win, Ville Platte was led by Kealogah Calvin who netted 17 points.
Ville Platte remains undefeated in District 5-3A with a 6-0 record.
Pine Prairie falls to 2-4 in district play.
