Kathleen Marron O'Donnell
CROWLEY- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Kathleen “Kate” Marron O’Donnell, 97, who died May 30, 2008 at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be in Maxie Cemetery.
Kathleen was a native of Ireland from 1911 to 1928, then moved to New Orleans from 1928 to 2005, and then resided in Crowley following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She was active in civic and church organizations by being a member of MidTown Golden Age Club of New Orleans, St. Anthony of Padua Seniors Club of New Orleans, and St. Anthony of Padua of New Orleans Altar Ladies Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen O’Donnell Marmino of Crowley, and Mary O’Donnell Aubin and her husband Eugene of Georgetown, TX; two sons, John Joseph O’Donnell, Jr. and his wife Gertrude of Crowley, and James Michael O’Donnell of Rowlett, TX; one grandchild, Marron Kay O’Donnell Werth and her husband Jason of Crowley; two great-grandchildren, Jason Matthew “Matt” Werth, Jr., and Patrick Josef Werth; one sister, Mary Marron McArdle of Ireland; one brother, John Marron of Ireland; and numerous nieces and nephews in the USA and in Ireland.
Mrs. O’Donnell is preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph O’Donnell, Sr.; her parents, John and Annie Marron; one son-in-law, Paul Marmino, Jr.; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Marron O’Donnell; and two brothers, Patrick Marron, and Peter Marron.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
