Lady Demons pound Ville Platte

MAMOU – The Lady Demons scored a 10-0 mercy rule win over Ville Platte Wednesday night, adding another District 6-2A win to their record.
Mamou lit the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning with one run, adding two more in the third.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Demons scored four runs, and added three more in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
Heidi Manuel (6-3) pitched the shutout, giving up no runs off of two hits in Wednesday’s game. She walked one batter and struck out seven after five innings of work.
Sadie Fontenot drove in four runs, batting a double and a triple, and scored three times in Wednesday’s contest.
Kristie Soileau went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Katie Landreneau went 3-for-4 and scored twice.
With the win, Mamou is now 16-8 overall, and 5-2 in district.
On Tuesday, the Lady Demons travel to Westminster Christian Academy to face the Lady Crusaders (5-14; 2-5).
