Leleux, Dufrechou wed at St. Michael
Amanda Claire Leleux of Baton Rouge became the bride of Michael Elmer Dufrechou, Jr., of Baton Rouge during a 7 p.m. candlelight nuptial mass on Saturday, April, 5, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Father Gary Schexnayder officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Nugie and Dixie Hebert Leleux of Crowley, and the granddaughter of the late Whitney and Lellia Leleux of Lyons Point, and the late Joseph “Saul”’ and Agnes Hebert of Crowley, formerly of Grand Lake.
Amanda is a graduate 1998 graduate of Notre Dame High School and she also attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in clinical laboratory science. She is presently employed by Our Lady of the Lake RMC in Baton Rouge.
The groom is the son of Michael Dufrechou, Sr. of Harahan and Rose Marie Imbraguglio Defrechou of St. Rose. He is the grandson of Ms. Delia and the late Elmer Defrechou of New Orleans, and the late Vincent Imbraguglio and the late Rose Fogarty
Michael is a 1998 graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School, and of Louisiana State University Manship School of Mass Communications.
The bride, escorted by her father, was radiant in an elegant strapped Casablanca gown of ivory silk taffeta. The bodice and waist were accentuated with gathers that cascaded to an A-line skirt and train. Small rows of crystal beads were delicately placed throughout the gown. Completing the gown were satin covered buttons down the back that ran to the end of the train. A veil of elbow-length double layered illusion was adorned with a Swarovski crystal and pearl comb. Her bouquet was a beautiful hand held arrangement of cream roses, orchids, hydrangeas, and green coffee beans.
As tradition goes, the bride’s grandmother’s rosary intertwined in her bouquet as something old. Something new was her wedding gown; her hair comb was borrowed from a friend; and something blue was her garter.
Serving as matron of honor was Melanie Osorno Theriot, and Erin Lambousy served as maid of honor, both friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lisa Chaisson Breaux, Miranda Byrd Jameson, Ashley Joiner Matherne, Christina Escude Thornton, all friends of the bride and Shelly Gabriel Foley, sister of the groom.
Each wore a taffeta strapped rich olive green gown accented with a v-neck pleated bodice and an ivory sash. They carried hand-held bouquets of bright pink and ivory roses and green coffee beans.
Serving as best man was Travis Thornton, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Adam Dufrechou, brother of the groom; Dan Foley, brother-in-law of the groom; Steven Guidry, cousin of the groom; Louie Robinson, Adam Turkinton and Jeremy Theriot, friends of the groom.
Ushering guest to their seats were Andy LeBlanc and Paul Lazzell, also friends of groom.
Flower girls were Brooke Habetz, godchild of the bride; Corrine Foley and Lily Guidry, godchildren of the groom. Serving as ring bearer was Jay Leleux, nephew of bride.
On her daughter’s special day the mother of the bride was lovely in a champagne colored, floor-length dress, that was accentuated with a beaded bodice and matching beaded jacket.
The mother of the groom was beautifully attired in a mint green floor-length dress, embellished with a beaded bodice and matching shawl.
Appropriate musical selections were provided by Alberta Lyons, organist; Tommy Benoit, violinist; Neil Simon, trumpeter, and Gerard Lancon, vocalist. Scriptures were read by Joan Habetz, godmother and sister of the bride; and Mary Ann Boyle, godmother of the groom.
Offertory gifts were brought up by Nathan Habetz, godchild of the bride; Katelyn Habetz, niece of the bride; and Dane Domingue, nephew of the bride.
The bride’s cake featured a three tierd butter-cream confection, with the third layer on columns. The cake was topped with a fleur-de-lis design and adorned with fresh flowers, which cascaded down between the columns. The cake was filled with butter pecan and chocolate mousse.
The groom’s cake was a oval shaped butter-cream and strawberry mousse delight, resembling a poker table topped with emblems that featured LSU, Chicago Cubs, and New Orleans Saints logos.
A reception immediately followed at Keith’s Ballroom in Lafayette.
Out of town guests traveled from New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Houston, Lufkin, New Orleans, Mandeville, and Baton Rouge.
Following a wedding trip to Sans Souci, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
On the night prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dufrechou, Sr. at Chef Roy’s in Rayne.
