Catholic Daughters hold monthly meeting
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its monthly meeting Wednesday, October 7, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church meeting room with Regent Barbara Delafosse presiding.
The court’s newest member, Brenda Saucier, was sworn in as a Catholic Daughter member. She has been chosen as Colonel Cotton for the 2015 Cotton Festival and was congratulated by the court.
Delafosse thanked the court members who made cakes and served food after the Blue Mass. She also said the CDA calendars have been mailed, and that if children in a member’s family attend a Catholic school and will be going to the ninth grade, they may apply for a scholarship.
On Tuesday, October 13, the court met with Mayor Jennifer Vidrine to take a photo of her signing the proclamation declaring Sunday, October 18, as National Catholic Daughters Day.
The memorial mass for deceased members will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
