Catholic Daughters hold monthly meeting

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 16, in the Sacred Heart Elementary School science lab, with Regent Barbara Delafosse officiating. The meeting was opened with a prayer and the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Delafosse then wished a Happy Birthday to members celebrating a birthday in April.
Court members were reminded to attend the bingo hosted by the court at Heritage Manor Nursing Home each month. Help is needed for this event. The residents look forward to these visits.
The following court members were selected to serve on the nominating committee to present a slate of officers for the next year: Kathy Coldiron, Annette Fontenot, Janice Soileau, Connie Veillon, Darnell Firmin and Freida Coreil. New officers will be installed at the June meeting. An audit of the court’s books will be held on May 10.
Court members are reminded that club dues are now past due.
Plans for the annual salad-bingo fund raiser scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, will be made at the May 4, meeting. Tickets for the event also will be available at the May meeting.
The meeting was closed with a prayer and members then enjoyed an ice cream social and fellowship.
