Catholic Daughters to host annual French Retreat March 19

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 4, at the Sacred Heart church meeting room with Regent Barbara Delafosse presiding. The meeting opened with a prayer and Delafosse wished a Happy Birthday to members celebrating a birthday in March.
A report given on the success of the court’s sponsored bingo games at Heritage Manor noted how much the residents enjoy the games.
The next project of the court is the annual French Retreat, which will be held Thursday, March 19, at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. The event will be in French and planned activities include praying a rosary, confession and sacrament of the sick. Father Richard Vidrine will conduct the mass, hear confessions and administer the sacrament of the sick. Father Vidrine is a native of Ville Platte who speaks French fluently and is a frequent visitor to Heritage Manor. Most of the elderly residents know him well.
