Catholic Daughters plan annual banquet to be held in February
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its first meeting of the new year Wednesday, January 7, at the Sacred Heart meeting room, with Regent Barbara Delafosse presiding. The weather was cold, so only 14 members attended.
The major order of business was the planning of the annual CDA Banquet, which will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Family Life Center. Five members will receive their 50-year membership pins, and one member will receive a 25-year membership pin. The Catholic Daughter of the Year will be recognized for her outstanding service to the court.
Members are requested to bring a covered dish of food for the banquet and are reminded that dues should be paid now.
Today, January 15, the court will sponsor a bingo game for the residents of Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Members were asked to attend and assist with this activity.
At 11 a.m., Saturday, January 17, a memorial service will be held for Gwen Johnson, a 49-year member, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Court members were encouraged to attend to honor their fellow long-time member.
