Catholic Daughters resume monthly meetings
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, resumed their monthly meetings after the summer break on September 2, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church meeting room with Regent Barbara Delafosse presiding.
The new priests at Sacred Heart, Father Thomas Voorhies and Father Matthew Barzare, were installed as the court’s new chaplains. They are the spiritual directors of the court and will be the celebrants of the annual memorial mass for deceased court members and the installation of new court members.
The court’s annual salad-bingo fund raiser held in June was a huge success and the court members thank all of those who donated items for bingo prizes, as well as the members who worked so hard to stage the event.
Court members were sent a schedule of the coming year’s events by mail. The court will host a monthly bingo game at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, along with other events to help boost the spirits of the facility’s residents.
Brenda Saucier was welcomed as a new court member.
Catholic Daughter members who are sick or having surgery and in need of prayers are asked to call Barbara Delafosse (224-7795) to ask for spiritual bouquets.
The next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 7, in the meeting room.
