EP 4-H Sew Wth Cotton Contest winners announced

The 2014 Evangeline 4-H Sew With Cotton and Spring Clothing Style Show and Awards Ceremony sponsored by the Evangeline Parish Volunteers for Family and Community and the Ville Platte Super Wal-Mart was held Thursday, February 27, at 6 p.m.
Ten 4-H members participating in the Sew-With-Cotton Contest modeled the garments they made from 100 percent cotton fabric, and six 4-H members participating in the Spring Clothing contest modeled the garments they made.
Elaine LaTour, Evangeline Parish Volunteers for Family and Community Council member, presented the following awards to the participants in each division:
Spring Clothing Contest:
Seventh - Eighth Grade Complete Outfit Division: Gabrielle Fontenot, Sacred Heart Elementary School seventh grade, parish winner; Whitney Ledoux, Ville Platte Elementary School eighth grade, second place; and Julianne Reed, Sacred Heart Elementary School seventh grade, third place.
Fourth - Sixth Grade Bottoms Only Division: Emma Johnson, Good Shepherd Home School sixth grade, parish winner.
Fourth - Sixth Grade Aprons Division: Lauren Oyster, Basile Elementary School sixth grade, parish winner; and Charley Beiber, Mamou Elementary School fifth grade, second place.
Sew with Cotton Contest:
Senior Complete Outfit Division: Savannah Watts, Sacred Heart High School, 12th grade, parish winner.
Seventh - Eighth Grade Complete Outfit Division: Elayne Elnaggar, Bayou Chicot Elementary School seventh grade, parish winner.
Fourth - Sixth Grade Apron Division: Josie LeJeune, Mamou Elementary School fourth grade, parish winner; Laura Elnaggar, Pine Priarie Elementary School fourth grade, second place; Mena Newman, Good Shephard Home School fourth grade, third place; Lindsey Meylian, Bayou Chicot Elementary School sixth grade, fourth place; and Madison Courville, Vidrine Elementary School fourth grade, Mary Dupre, Sacred Heart Elementary School fifth grade, Angel Graser, Bayou Chicot Elementary School fifth grade and Grace Powers, Bayou Chicot Elementary School sixth grade, tied for fifth place.
